My OPINION on this week's AMERICAN IDOL!

this leaves quite the variety..which leads me to wonder why some of the contestants chose their song???

Anoop- disappointing. after 2 good weeks I thought this was not so good. Usher does a much better version.

Megan- oh dear. I hope she's able to stick around so I can see her sit on the stool and not dance like a chicken...but the outcome looks grim.

Danny- sweet. made me teary eyes knowing his wife died not long ago...and singing this song. it was beautiful.

Scott- confused. why o why do the judges compliment him? he cannot sing. it was not good.

Allison- rockin. I thought it was great. no complaints for her. and the outfit might not have been great, but i did not consider it distracting. she is 16!! at least she wasnt dressing like a 40yo!

Matt- bummer. i think he needs to find his niche. he's on his way there. he is super talented and dont you agree he needs to keep the hat on???

Lil- I dont want to say much, it's not like she listens anyways! how many times do they have to say MARY J BLIGE?? Celine dion's R&B?? I think NOT!

Adam- hmmm. we all know I'm a huge Adam fan. just not this song. if it's on his CD I will happily skip that track.

This week I'd like to reminisce about the birth of my baby boy....

On Tuesday April 4th, 2006 I had my 39-week check up. I had NO change at all ( I had been 3cm dilated for a couple weeks) which was so disappointing, but my blood pressure was on the high side. Since I have a history of toxemia my doctor was concerned and wanted me to go to the hospital to get checked for a couple hours. He said if it doesn't get better then I will be induced. I told him I was definitely ready so he said he'll do what he can do get me induced. So we dropped the girls off with my friend, Terri, and off to the hospital. I tried not to get my hopes up too much. When I got checked in at the hospital at about 4 my blood pressure kept going up and down for a couple hours. They said this was a bigger concern cause it can cause seizures so they wanted to keep me overnight and induce at 6 in the morning. YAY! The only problem was I hadn't eaten since lunchtime and they wanted to put me on magnesium, meaning I could not eat or drink anything except ice chips. I was starving! We did get an ultrasound to make sure baby boy was handling it well and we then got the CONFIRMATION that he was NO DOUBT a boy!
So I get all set up in my room by 8pm not knowing how I will make it through the night and through labor the next day without any drink or food. The magnesium made me feel awful so I just tried to sleep to get through it. I remember waking up at 11pm with a contraction...and they kept coming...I went into labor all by myself!! By 2am I got my epidural. I was feeling so out of it from the magnesium (I hate that stuff) and nauseous from this stuff they made me drink. I ended up throwing up twice. At around 8am they came to check me and break my water. I was 8cm dilated and decided to wait to break my water until my doctor came because they didn’t think it would be long afterwards. So he came broke my water and said it was time to start pushing. My contractions were only coming every 5-7 minutes though so I had to wait that long between pushing. It was so weird. Plus I felt like I couldn't breath so I had the oxygen mask on me to help. Well after 30 minutes of pushing, at 9:51am on Wednesday April 5th, 2006 my little Josiah Allen was born. 7lb 8oz 20 inches. Perfect as can be with blue eyes. I was in love instantly!

Now in just a few days he will be 3 years old!

Siyanara! Adios!Buh bye!!! Cant say I was sad to see him go...who am I kidding?? I did a happy dance! YAHOO!!!!!

but still shocked that Matt ended up in the bottom three...maybe he needs to put his hat back on...

I know it's kinda late, but here's my American Idol recap & OPINION take it or leave...what ever its worth...

Matt- Great song, so glad he got off the piano! I enjoyed it and hope he's around for awhile!

Kris- I just have to say he is such a cutie. He looks like a little boy. and i think he did great, i could totally hear that song on the radio playin!

Scott- Not feelin it this week, he sounds a bit nasaly. not loving the pink pants.

Megan- not great, it was a bit too fast for her. i think she did ok, but I agree with the judges.

Anoop- Very pretty! Go Anoop...and boo Randy for telling him to get a fast tempo'd song next week. ugh.

Michael- well he loves to remind me every week how much i dislike him and i am THRILLED the judges finally agree!! HAHA

Lil- Totally wrong song! I hope she stays, but the song was verging on screaming and she didnt even look like she was having fun.

Adam- Still lovin Adam! he knows how to bring it!

Danny- Not his best, but still strong and I still really like him! He's not going anywhere!

Allison- GREAT!!! Still do not know how she made it in the bottom 3 last week, but she is awesome with a great set of vocals! I love her!

This week we shall look into... December of 2004. I love these pictures of Alexis. She was 3 1/2 years old, we lived in Tucson at the time. We had gone to a Christmas Party and afterwards she was singing and playing before bed and I took these pictures. I love to remember her this way.

Renessaince Festival

Every year the Renessaince Festival come to town for about 6 weeks. I had not been in probably 9 years. I thought it would be a great idea to take the kids. It had really grown in 9 years too! They had so much new stuff and funny enough they had alot of the same shows and shops as they did before! Pretty cool! Here are some shots from the day. I didnt get too many, I was not really feeling the photographer in me that day...

I don't think the photos do justice to the fun we had that day! The kids rode some rides, went to the petting zoo and we got to see some shows! The jousting show was a hit..Alexis thought it was real and almost started crying! It's just so neat to see everyone in costume and just for awhile feel like you are somwhere else! I recommend going to anyone who has the opportunity!

American Idol Show Recap

Grand Ole Opry week...i was a little worried baout this week since there really aren't any country singers this year, however I was pleasantly surprised. EXCEPT for you know who...

1. Michael- YUCK.Boring.GO home!!!

2. Allison- I thought she did good, not her best, but I think she could sing anything and make it her own.

3. Kris Allen- Beautiful! I really loved his version.

4. Lil- I think they gave her a harder time than she deserved. I liked hearing her voice and it not be the all R&B. I think she did great!

5. Adam- it was rather strange...but strange enough for me to actually kinda like it...i think..hmmm?

6.Scott- I thought he was kinda off this week. The judges were correct that he needed to step it up.

7.Alexis- I thought it was good, not great. I like that song!

8. Danny- Totally agree with Simon-NOT diggin the jacket thing LOL First part was not so good, 2nd part AMAZING!

9.Anoop- Great job Anoop! He definitely made up for last week!

10.Megan- She did good, I think she did great for being sick. I thought some notes were off, but I do like her voice.

11. Matt-Great job!! Great musician & a great voice!

This week, my time capsule... July 2004

This was my 23rd birthday! This was the year I got my 1st digital camera. We went out to dinner with some good friends and came back to the house to play some games! We had a blast! From the left: Shannon, Me, Matt, Joey & John. I am pretty sure Tena was taking the picture. This feels like it was FOREVER ago! We lived in San Diego back then, I had Lily just a couple months before and Alexis was about to turn 3.

My American Idol Recap

yup.just an opinion.

Top 13 performed tonight! Overall I thought it was a great night!! REALLY AWESOME performances for the 1st night. Each contestant had to perform a Michael Jackson song. Which in my opinion is a difficult task to pull off!

My rundown...

1. Lil Rounds- from Memphis, mom of 3..right there she has me, but the vocals to back it up!! WHOA! Great night for her. Her outfit..not so much...Lexi & I both agreed, the shirt wasnt SO bad, but we would not wear it!

2. Scott MacIntyre-from Phoenix! he's got us on his team & the whole city, you should see the news stations really advertising him! I think he did great and he does such an amazing job on the piano. So talented.

3. Danny Gokey- LOVE him! since the beginning. I really enjoyed his performance!

4. Michael Sarver- blah. thought his performance was weak. He did not change my mind,

I still dont like him.

5. Jasmine Murray- I think she picked the right song, but thought she sang it rather weak. I think she can do better.

6. Kris Allen- I really like him. I think he did good, but not the best out of the group.

7. Allison Iraheta- For 16 yrs old she is AMAZING!! Love her voice, I thought she did spectacular ; )

8. Anoop Desai- I agrree with the judges, he didnt make it his own, so it was a bit Karaoke...however I don't think it was AS bad as they made it sound!

9. Jorge Nunez- I actually liked it and didnt think it was as bad as the judges said, but then again it could that I just LOVE that song!

10. Megan Joy- haha i never realized that was her last name! anyways...I thought the song was a weird choice but I think it went good with her voice. I cannot stand the way she moves/dances, but I would like to see what else she can do with her voice.

11. Adam Lambert- LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE him!!! he is great! I would totally buy his cd right now!

12. Matt Giraud- He did wonderful! I love his voice and who can resist the piano playing ; )

13. Alexis Grace- Well 1st off she has my daughters name so she gets my vote, she is from Memphis also! Too cool! Great big voice coming outta that little body! Very nice job tonight!

I'm a little later posting this because my kids have 2 weeks spring break & i am enjoying sleeping in!! Might as well enjoy it while it lasts!
But here is my time capsule:

This is my beautiful little angel girl. My 1st born ~Lexi Lu Lu~ that I decided to put in a pageant! So we entered in The Hawaiian Tropic Pageant for 18-24 month olds. She was 20 months old at the time. I was giddy with excitement and nervous. The two of us went in the sprinkly San Diego weather in mid March 2003 to the Hotel where the pagenat was being held. Since this was my first time I did not know what to expect...or how long it would take. I enjoyed the show and when it was time for us to go up there I had to walk with her on stage, like most of the mothers, since she would not go by herself. *Phew* we made it! Pics were taken on stage and I think she smiled...

So we walk down to the audience towards the back and she sees bags of chips for sale. I do not have cash on me and they do not take cards. She was not happy with my cheerios and fruit snacks so she proceeded to throw a huge fit crying for chips!! THEN they call us back on stage...WHAT?? I thought we were done?? Oh no!!! I had to go back up there as a group with my screaming toddler. My face was BRIGHT RED! Needless to say she did not win & I'm thinking that is the ONLY reason why because why on Earth would they not pick MY DAUGHTER??? She did however recieve an easter backet with candies & a stuffed bunny and a little trophy & balloon! So I'd say all in all it was worth the experience, even though I have NEVER done it again!

AI, mall trips & more!

OK...so aparently there was no voting tonight! That's what happens when you do not fully pay attention. I am so excited for the FINAL 13 on American Idol, even if there were a few I would not have chosen. We'll see who has what it takes in the next 13 weeks!

Just a glimpse into a simple shopping trip...
I went to the mall today because I have been having issues with my skin and I wanted to get some good facial cleanser and moisturizer. I cannot walk around looking like this for too long, something HAD TO BE DONE! So, we drive to the mall (me & 3 kids), which first of all was nice since my passenger side window is broken and will not go up. It fell all the way down into the door. real classy, let me tell ya! So with the breeze in my hair we get to the mall. So now I not only have a messed up face but a crazy hair do as well.
I get to the counter and wait for a sales lady. She comes up to me speaking in Spanish. WHAT? I speak english! Grant it, this has happened to me before & she was a sweet lady. We are in the middle of my make-over when Jojo decided he has to use the restroom. *sigh* So all 4 of us rush to the nearest bathroom. We get back and try to finish up the purchase while 3 kids are running around, trying on hats and going into the lingerie department. For some reason jojo liked to run through the bras...
So I get out of there spending way too much, but what is the price of a clear complexion anyways??
Lexi talked me into getting Dairy Queen and somehow I scarf down a small snickers blizzard. (and I wonder why i'm having skin issues?) I let the kids play a bit in the play area before heading back to the car. Of course there is a Payless Shoes store on the way so I HAVE to stop & look. Lily finds some black high heels that she must have. I say no because she does not need black high heels with SUMMER coming & I had just bought her some new sandles.
She proceeds to THROW her new sandles across the aisle. Hmmmm....there was crying and screaming ALL the way to the car, not just Lily, by this time Jojo chimed in because...well I have no clue why, but he did not make the walk back to the car easy. ( I do not have a stroller). LUCKILY no one stole my car and within 10 minutes of driving the screaming had subsided and I think I had regained my sanity.

I would say thank God for the weekend, but I don't get those.



1. Holding the door open for some people was my last random act of kindness.

5. Sometimes it is better to take separate paths.

6. Our love reminds me that there is hope.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to having a quiet evening, tomorrow my plans include finishing my finals and Sunday, I want to go to church!

Long time no see...

When I started this blog I told myself I would try to post something at least once a day. I have disappointed myself to say the last since I have not posted on the blog for quite some time..at least for me it feels like forever! I guess I have had somewhat of a writer's block...since ya know...I'm NOT a writer. I've been pretty busy with school (finals this week) and gearing up for Spring Break. The girls get 2 weeks off! Joey is coming to see us in the middle of SB for 5 days! & Joey had a birthday this week, turned 31! He was 22 when I met him. I was 19. I thought he was so much older and to think back now, 22 is so young! (random thought)
I've also been getting my dose of American Idol!
Who doesnt love this show?? Come here so I can kick you.
Dont be afraid, get on the band wagon! I have watched every season since season 1 and although some seasons have been better than others I love to hear the talent every year & pick out my faves! We are so close to the final 12! I am happy with the choices so far except 1. Michael Sarver. I am sorry but I do not like him and do not understand the hype. Please do not vote for people for sympathy reasons. it is about TALENT! However..since he made it to the top 12 I will give him the benefit of the doubt and see how he does...which I guess I have no choice. Who knows...maybe he will surprise me!
I was really trying to bite my tongue until the top 12 were fully picked. Too many contestants to talk about right now, but next week I will be sharing my faves! Tonight I will be watching the WILD CARDS perform & voting!!!
