I have been trying to figure out how to post a blog from my phone. I have an HTC Incredible (Andriod) and I can post blogs, but every time I try to add a picture it says ERROR!

Such a pain.

I try to spend the least amount of time on my computer since its 6 1/2 years old...which is like 65 years old in techy years.

But here are a few new pics :) I cut my hair a couple months ago and got highlights for the 1st time in 10 years. I LOVE it...& today I got a retouch with a few more colors :) I'm getting brave!!

Growing Up On Me

My baby turned 5 today! I just can't believe how fast he has grown...although I did, at one point, wonder if he'd ever be potty trained or hold a conversation ;)
I'm so proud of who he is today, so loving and polite...most if the time :) He quickly turned from a complete Mommy's boy to a Daddy's boy. I was jealous at first but I love seeing their relationship blossom and being best buds. I will enjoy many more years with my baby boy!

It sure has been awhile since my last post...this past year has been a roller coaster and I am finally feeling like it is ending & I am happily getting off...but as life goes I am sure I will get on another one soon enough. In September I began attending Kaplan College's Patient Care Assistant/Technician (PCAT) program. Which is pretty much a CNA with a bit more training. My reason for doing this is to get the qualifications to attend the RN program. I will finish up the PCAT program in late May/early June. I am so excited to be done and hopefully get a job before starting the Nursing program. With a house, kids, husband & school my life has been SUPER busy!! Luckily Joey has been home to help out with the kids & household duties so I didnt go completely crazy! I am SO ready for SUMMER break & hitting the beach :) So thats a quick update on me..what is up with you all??

I was approached at church by a friend, Mike, who is very passionate about women taking self-defense classes.
I am sure you have heard of Chelsea King who was brutally raped and murdered. It happened just a few short miles from my house. If she had been able to fight back the outcome may have been completely different.
Mike's goal is to teach FREE self-defense classes for women on weekends, that maybe a life can be saved. However, he was in need of 2 women that were willing to demonstrate the moves during the classes. I was very interested...then he said that he would teach me Karate up to my black belt FOR FREE just for helping him! I could not resist!
Fast forward one month: I have already earned my yellow belt & am working on my green belt!
He may just be saying this, but he said I'm very good. I'm a quick learner and it should not take me long to reach my black belt. Grant it, I am 28 and it is not the easiest thing I have done, but I am enjoying it and it's a great work out! I definitely have to work at it, but I'm so excited to learn more. Especially getting into the self-defense moves and hopefully it won't be too much longer until we are doing the Free Self-Defense Classes for Women!

First I want to say how surprised I was that Lacey went home last week. She was one of the better ones, in my opinion, and I know there are much worse still in the game. So far lilly & lacey gone...America has gotten it wrong! (maybe I should vote ha!)

I have been missing in action, huh?
I think I just needed a break from something and blogging was it, I put too much on my plate sometimes and then everything blows up in my face! We were down for about a week with a stomach bug and right after that Jojo got pink eye. Seems like it has taken me some time to recover from everything since everything goes haywire and the house becomes destroyed. Still trying to recover from the piles of laundry, but I am getting my carpets cleaned within the next week! Oh, the excitement ensues ;)
I was really hoping to update about American Idol this year and I still plan to...even though I have missed a few weeks. I have not watched tonight's yet, it is recorded and waiting for me. I have not been too impressed this year but I do have a few faves!
Time Capsule Tuesday may be put on hold for awhile. The computer with all my old photos is without a keyboard right now and I keep forgetting to purchase one when while I am out.
The kids are all doing great, the girls are going to a Community Day every Tuesday, its a 3 hour class for homeschoolers. They love it and I love the break! Today was awesome since my friend watched Jojo while I had some pampering done (mani/pedi) and a bit of shopping!
I will be posting some updates soon on some other things going on! Keep a look out!

We are so excited...one of my bestest of friends invited us to go along with them to celebrate their son's 7th Birthday! I could not pass up the offer!

I am a teensy bit bummed that my husband will have to miss this trip, but he is excited for us and wants me to take lots of pictures (of course I will!!!)

Almost 5 years ago, it always amazes me how time flies....I can't believe my baby will be 9 years old this coming July!! She no longer dances, she would rather take gymnastics. She loves it though & I'm happy as long as she is happy :)

2. Unfortunately, I have not been able to watch any of the 2010 Olympics.
3. And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was not worth it anymore.
4. Do not always do what you please, even if you get an urge.
5. Having sweet dreams are the best.
6. What does it take for these kids to listen to me.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to doing nothing, tomorrow my plans include relaxing and Sunday, I want to enjoy my first class of Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University!

This week has pretty much flown by, I guess it was because Monday was a holiday. Homeschooling has gone well this week. I think I've finally figured out a schedule that works for us all. I'm still trying to work on myself to not get so overwhelmed. It is okay if something does not get done, there is always tomorrow. We can have fun with this, there are so many wonderful opportunities we can have because I homeschool. NO NEED TO STRESS SO MUCH..and if anyone knows me, I tend to stress to the max.

I used to not be like that at all, I am not sure why that has changed. I know we are called to NOT worry. Trust in the Lord for He will direct our path, He will provide, He will not give us more than we can handle. I must really put it into practice now.

We are focusing on Math and Language Arts, however I am mostly enjoying the History lessons and some of the Science lessons. Alexis is speeding through her spelling book, so we may be done with that before anything else!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, make a point to get some rest and really enjoy life's beauty.

Found My Happy Pace

Last Saturday I ran my fist 5k.

I signed up online with the Mermaid Run. It was their first ever run in San Diego. When I signed up I had decided to train hard since I really am not much of a runner..I like to do Jazzercise & the elliptical. I loathe the treadmill. BUT I cannot go to jazzercise classes or to a gym right now because it is hard to go anywhere with 3 kids plus the cost. I figured this would be a good way to get motivated about running.

I had 3-4 weeks to get ready...

and then it began to rain.

It rarely rains in San Diego, but as soon as I decided to start running, rain decided to make its appearance for 2 weeks straight !!! & being as busy as I am, when it was not raining I had plans or something would come up. Needless to say I did not get in as much training as I would have liked. I even contimplated bowing out of the race. BUT I paid my dues so I went.

I ran.

I did not stop running the whole time. & I may have come in close to last at 39 min 14 sec for 3.1 miles, but I DID IT!!!

My inspiration was my sister, who ran 10 miles for her first ever race. I kept teling myself, my sister did 10-I can do 3!!

& I actually enjoyed it!

I'm already planning to do a 10k next month & I hope to run with my sister soon. She lives in another state, but we'll figure it out!

I had a wonderful weekend, it started off with my parents & my niece coming in from out of town for a nice visit. On Sunday we went to church. Pastor gave a wonderful sermon on LOVE.
Afterwards we went to lunch & Best Buy.
I was able to purchase new tvs for our house. I promised Joey I would buy them before he returned home--so Happy Valentines Day Joey! ♥
That evening we decided to go to the Beach. It was wonderful, the weather was perfect and it was just beautiful.

The weekend has arrived...

1. Pickles are delicious, just ask Lily, she eats them all AND drinks the juice.
2. Sometimes, I just enjoy being at home.
3. The snow is too cold for me, so I stay FAR away.
4. I'd like to take a walk in nature.
5. It's 5:16 PM; that means I'm making dinner or remembering I forgot to take something out.
6. Anything I'm looking for that I really need, which is usually right in front of my face, is hard to find.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to my parents coming in from out of town, tomorrow my plans include running/walking a 5k & a Purse Show and Sunday, I want to celebrate Valentine's Day with my parents & 3 beautiful children!

I do not really get sick that often so I am not sure...I'd like to say I'm pleasant, but I am probably pretty grumpy. I do always remember to say thank you though :)

For one, I live in San Diego...which means No snow. & secondly, I homeschool so I can cancel school whenever I want ;)

Mopping, my floor get sticky afterwards & I hate that!

I hadn't until this year, I got a heart wreath for my door and a few little knick knacks...I didnt over do it.

I think I am pretty good at it, but sometimes I can blow up at the littlest things because of something else that is going on. But I have to put my feelings aside A LOT when my husband is on deployment & trying to raise 3 kids on my own. I dont really have a choice.
8. What is the first thing that attracted you to your spouse? (Or if you're single, to your best friend.)

When Alexis dropped Jojo on his face earlier today. Poor guy.

Another friday...

I finally got myself a NEW camera today! It is a Canon PowerShot. I thought of getting a more expensive "photography" (DSLR) type camera, but honestly I do not have the time to devote to such extracurricular activities at the moment. Hopefully one day I can have that hobby. For now, I will settle with this tiny camera and get some decent shots of my beautiful babes!

Lily got a haircut today, probably a good 6 inches. I was so sick of hearing her whine about having to brush her hair. It's very fine and thin, so it tangles real easily. Now we dont have to worry about it! Its nice and short, but also cute! I think she looks adorable! Pictures to come (camera is still charging). Last week she lost another tooth, one on top and the next is not far off. Of course she already spent her tooth fairy money when the ice cream man strolled by.

For now, I will leave you with some....

Writer's Workshop: I couldn't pick just one!

I'm going to try Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop.

We are asked to choose a prompt & post it on our blog.

The Prompts I chose:

2.) Explain a time there was an emergency. What “mode” did you go into? Freaking out, calm and collected, etc.

The biggest emergencies I have faced were results of something my daughter Lily has done.

Stitches twice and a concussion scare.

I'd have to say the first time I was a wreck. She was 2 years old and broke her sister's porcelain tea set. She cut her knee. I had to call Joey at work to come and take her (we only had 1 car at the time, Josiah was only about 5 months old and school was about to be out for kindergartener Alexis). Luckily Joey arrived within 10 minutes and took her in. It was very hard for me not to go with her.

The concussion scare was not too much later. She was standing in a wagon and Alexis pulled it. She fell onto concrete, with her head. She was acting very strange so we decided it was better to take her in and be safe. I tried to keep her awake, but she was pretty lathergic and passed out before we got to the hospital. I was scared, but I was on a mission to get her to the dr. They did not waste any time and got her in the back. They poked and prodded her and right before the doctor was about to try a more evasive technique she woke right up. It did not take long for her to be back to normal. But she sure gave us a scare.

The last emergency was December 25, 2008. Lily was playing on my mom's exercise bike. A bolt cover had been missing. As she was playing on it, she slipped and the bolt caught her leg. She was wearing tights and it still got in her. I was very calm and collected. We got her to urgent care ASAP and she got 6 stitches. Not a fun way to spend Christmas Day. She sure loved all the attention she got afterwards though!

There is no way I can get an A in the class and I am hoping I will pass with a B...which I most likely will unless he hates my final project.

Life will go on. This B will not defeat me.

Tomorrow starts 2 more classes and they seem to be interesting, so I am actually looking forward to them.

Once these are finished (in 9 weeks) I will start my final 2 classes before graduating with my Associates in Healthcare Administration.

I'm really excited!

I feel somewhat accomplished. & even though it is not the end of my schooling I am very proud of what I have done so far!

One of these days I will learn not to procrastinate. I always wait until the last minute to do almost anything. I enjoy having things accomplished early, but I guess I get a rush out of stressing about whether I will get it all done in time and the timer motivates me. Of course when you have so much on your plate it is not always possible to achieve everything necessary in a short amount of time so either standards are lowered or it just never gets done. I do have to learn to budget my time wisely. When my calendar is empty I become apethetic, so I have managed to fill it the brim. And when I get overly stressed I most likely stop everything and give up (which is a trait of a perfectionist, go figure).
Procrastination can be a result of laziness and while I would hate to admit that I am lazy I know I can be. My excuse is I need a break, and well, we all need rest, but too much of anything is never a good thing. & maybe one day I will learn as I sit here writing about my need to stop procrastinating I am actually procrastinating writing my finals for my classes.
Apparently, today is not the day I will learn...maybe tomorrow...

Homeschooling and eye twitching

One might say it is coincidence that my eye has not stopped twitching since I have started homeschooling.

I think not.

I guess it is a bit stressfull. I am really trying to enjoy it. It is something I chose to do for the benefit of my children and I will not let anything stand in the way...

even myself.

It has only been a full 2 weeks out of the last 3; our first week we didn't do much since all the materials hadn't arrived. I know I have to give it time, everything will not go perfectly right away.

Can you tell I am giving myself a pep talk?

My schedule is completely full this week and I need to find time to sleep.

I have finals this week.

One of my best friends is coming for a visit from out of town.

I am training for a 5K in February.

& I have SO much organizing to do it could take me 3 weeks straight.

I am not trying to complain here, I know my life could be so much worse. I am thankful for my life, my husband and my children. I am thankful I have a house to clean, legs that can run, children to teach and a husband to miss.

On a brighter note: I did have a good day!

The ship's family readiness group had a party at Dave&Busters...we got to eat yummy food, great conversation and a game card to play some games!

Monday's Manic...

Another week has already passed.

Homeschooling went well last week, I am still getting the hang of it...as well as the girls. The most difficult part is schooling 2 children in 2 different grades without ignoring one or taking ALL day. It is taking some adjustments, but I am getting the hang of it.

Preparation is key.

Since Josiah is also home he likes to be in the school room with us, which can be distracting and I'm having to find things for him to do as well. He is learning though, so that is a major positive. & all week has finally decided he was going to be fully potty trained! Only 10 months of struggle!

Today marks my Dad's 52nd Birthday! I wish I was able to be with him to celebrate, but I hope he knows how much we love him and miss him and appreciate him in our lives. Happy Birthday Dad/Poppa!

Growing up, what was your favorite sitcom?

I'd have to choose 2: Punky Brewster & Full House!

What's your idea of a romantic date?

Anything that involves me RELAXING! I love being pampered :)

My family/children.

American Idol is back! Tomorrow will be the first of many auditions, followed by HOLLYWOOD WEEK and then the competition starts! I'm really hoping for a good year with outstanding talent!

I'm sure most of you remember my FANatic behavior towards Adam Lambert...I have still yet to buy his CD. I do not like the cover (I saw it tonight at Wal-Mart). Alexis said "They made him look like a girl!" She was right on! Ah..well, he has talent, I cannot deny that AND he has some strange taste! I haven't heard all the songs yet, I may like them.

So, I also hear Simon Cowell is leaving AI after this season...who knew he wanted to follow Paula Abdul so badly?? I am thinking AI will not do as great and will be coming to an end. I must say, even though I love the show...all good things must come to an end at some point, right??

I will not be giving my weekly updates/opinions on American Idol until the Top 10 (11, 12,13, ???) are revealed. But I will be watching and trying to see who my favorites will be this year!

I wish I could say nothing but there's quite a lot I'd like to change about myself, however I am not about to embarass myself ; )

I do. most importantly I believe God can use all things for good and for His purposes.

I have my dream job, staying home with my children. It would be a teensy bit better if I had a maid and chef on staff though!

Eye Twitch

I have this awful twitch in my eye for the last couple days. It comes and goes but is mostly there. annoying me. I read (googled) that I may be fatigued, stressed or had too much caffeine. I think I'm gonna go with the stressed and fatigued. I have had NO caffeine today and it's still going to town!

Tomorrow is our TRUE first day of homeschooling. We recieved most of the materials and the rest should be here tomorrow. I am a little nervous about how to handle both the girls at the same time. Lily needs more attention since she cannot read yet. I am not too concerned though, I think once I get started and we have a routine down things will go smoothly. I am sure there will be a lot of adjustments at first. I will gladly keep you all informed on how things are going--good and bad!
My cousin asked me what I was using to homeschool...I enrolled them through K12.com. If you qualify (we did) everything is FREE! They sent us our own computer and all the supplies! I figured I would go this route because it is easiest on me right now. They even have a teacher who is there to help if necessary and all the lesson plans are scheduled for us!

My schooling is going good. I was a little worried before Christmas break because I had a B in one of my classes. Well, I have brought that grade up to a 92%!
Only 3 weeks left of this semester then only 4 classes left and I will have my Associates degree!! I am very proud of myself. I have had straight A's this whole time and hope to continue that way! I graduate June 6, 2010. I am not sure what my next step will be, but I will certainly let you all in on it as soon as I know :)

I'm really bummed out that my camera decided to break (again!) and I am so thankful I decided to buy the warranty. The GeekSquad has my camera til further notice. Until then...no NEW pictures :(
I really think they should have rental cameras for times like these ; )

A new beginning...

A new month, a new year, and a new decade welcomes new beginnings. It is refreshing and I am taking this to heart this year, 2010. I remember as a child the year 2000 seemed forever away and I thought by now we'd all having flying cars and robot maids (thanks to The Jetsons). So many changes have taken place over the last 10 years, I became a wife, a mother, a woman (yes, in that order)...I've moved too many times to count and lived in 3 different states. I have met new people and lost contact with many. I've grown in so many ways and yet I know I have so much more growth, so much more to learn and so much more to do.

Starting tomorrow I will be eating healthy and exercising, trying to get off the extra weight 2009 left me. I begin my school work after a WONDERFUL 2 week break and to add yet another duty to my list I have chosen to homeschool my children. I know this may be shocking to some of you, it was even shocking to me, but I after lots of prayer and deliberation I know this is what is best for my children, at this time. We are all very excited to see where this new journey takes us and what this new year will bring...I, for one, am expecting only great things.

I have been quite the busy bee...my husband left on deployment a little over 2 weeks ago. We miss him very much and it has been quite the challenge to get a handle on everything. I have to get 2 kids off to school every day, a 3 yr old to school twice a week, gymnastics once a week, missionettes for the girls on Wednesdays, trying to fit in working out, cooking, cleaning and homework...makes me tired just thinking about it. Not to mention getting ready for the holidays!

Before he left we made a trip up to Knotts Berry Farm for a family day...it was Veteran's day so you can imagine how many other families had the same exact idea & decided to show up!

We spent last week in Arizona visiting my family and had a wonderful time. I really needed that boost and we will be back there in just 3 weeks for Christmas break. Here we are on Thanksgiving:

We drove back home on Saturday so Alexis could get baptized at church Sunday morning. We were very blessed and for a treat I took the kids out to dinner at Olive Garden. YUM!

On top of everything else for this week, I've added a couple things to my to do list: Decorate for Christmas & start my Christmas shopping!

Over the last year I have been on a bumpy ride with ups and downs and although I love roller-coasters, this one was one I never imagined being on. But today I can actually say I am happy to be where I am. I have a wonderful husband who takes care of me and loves me no matter what, 3 children who drive me crazy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. We live in a beautiful town and have made some wonderful friends. I have learned that no matter what you do or where you are nothing is perfect. There is nothing wrong with striving for more, but you must also be content with what God has handed you because the minute you could lose it all...will be the minute you realize how you have taken it for granted and would do anything to gain it all back.
I am truly happy. With laundry piled around me, my kids screaming & laughing loudly, dishes in the sink and dinner needing to be made...I am where I want to be & happy.

Hello, to all my faithful bog readers!
I am sorry I have not been around much lately, but thank you for still following me.
I had decided to take a break for the summer due to some crazy times.
The kids are out of school, I am still in school, we moved to another state, we had a great family vacation and I am trying to enjoy every ounce of relaxation I come across!
Moving to a new place is not that easy...new house, new neighbors, making new friends and new EVERYTHING! I cannot complain though, I am enjoying the newness of it all.
Kids start back to school starts in 2 weeks and I think things will be back to normal for a little while.
I look forward to blogging again, I have missed it & hope you all will join me again!

Do you usually wear perfume/cologne? If so, what's your current favorite? Not particularly, I have never gotten used to wearing it daily, plus I can't handle very many cause they give me a headache. Although, I have been wearing this body spray recently that I fell in love with: Jasmin Neroli from The Body Shop!

What's the last book you've read that you thought was really good? If you don't have one, what looks promising on your to-be-read list? There are a few books out there I would like to read, but since my cousin Jen told me about Nineteen Minutes, I think I will check it out next!

Sorry there was no Time Capsule Tuesday yesterday, I completely forgot about it this week. I remembered it about 8pm last night! No worries, we'll be back next week and I hope I can get more people to join in! If not, it's cool, I enjoy doing it!

Monday was our 8 year wedding anniversary. Joey re-enlisted in the Navy for 4 more years that day and since we are a few states apart right now I wasn't able to attend his ceremony. BUT Congrats to him! Only 9 more years and he can retire!

The girls registered for cheerleading yesterday with Young Champions of America. The really enjoyed their first lesson and will go every week for the summer! I'm so happy to get them into something active, especially Alexis. She never wants to join anything because I think she gets intimidated. She is the oldest one in this cheer class so I think she's enjoying the control LOL! All the younger girls follow her around like she's big stuff, although she's used to that since Lily looks up to her so much.

Today we went to see Up at the theaters! We had a great time and it was SUPER cute! Not what I expected at all, I think it is very enjoyable for adults and the kids really loved it too!

So, this is my simple update...hopefully next week I will be in better blogging spirit!

I recieved my package from Julie at Shabbywears the other day! I was so excited to open it up and see all the goodies she sent me! & WOW, did I get lucky!

First off, when I opened it everything was wrapped in pink tissue with a cute ribbon! The girls are just loving the ribbon and putting it in their hair :)

Each piece also had a little note tied to it explaining what it was and why it was her favorite thing (such a good idea)!

Adam vs Kris

This is definitely gonna be a close one! They both did so good tonight! Of course my vote goes to Adam. I just can't help myself. He is brilliant and on another level.

Kris' first song was his best for me and Adam's was his second song, even though I love "Mad Love" too!

The "first single" song was not so great. I liked Adams version much better, but I think Kris was just out of tune at first. Made it a little awkward.

Either way they are both very talented!

I have been attending a church here for a couple weeks and my sister and I went on Sunday. Kris Allen's pastor was the guest speaker!! It was really neat and it was a great service!

Alright, this week I will see what I can find.

I love this picture of my grandma, Lucy, and my father. The year had to be 1958 or 1959. My father was her 8th child.
I never had the privilege to meet my grandma. She passed away when my father was just 15 years old. She was so young and left behind a loving husband, 6 sons and 3 daughters. I have been told that I look like her. She had a twin, Aunt Alice, who told me that I reminded her of her sister. Makes me feel a little bit closer to her.

My Peachy Weekend

I ended up having a really nice weekend! Really early Saturday morning my brother dropped off his son, G, for the weekend. My parents, myself and all the kids got ready and headed to Queen Creek's Peach Festival at Schnepf's Farm. We didn't arrive til 10am so it was already heating up, but it was still loads of fun! We went straight to the Carousel. Longest carousel of my life! The kids sure enjoyed it, but I get nauseous on those things! Next up was the Pony Rides! Alexis was so excited since horses are her favorite animal (I guess pony's will do just as good)! Lily was as well and at first G was not sure, but ended up riding the pony. Josiah was not interested at all...all he wanted was something to drink! They all loved it and I got some cute pics! I almost didn't get any pics because i dropped my phone and my lens bent and I had to really work at it to get it fixed. I was really worried! I was just so happy that I had bought the warrenty! All worked out though & i fixed it! YAY!

After the pony express we headed to the play area. We got to sit in the shade while the kids played. It was just getting hotter so I was shocked how long they were able to play.

We started to smell something really yummy so we headed to the food area. They were cooking pancakes with peaches, they looked SO yummy! & the line was SO long! I ended up just getting some nachos and the kids got some homemade peach ice cream. It was DELICIOUS!

The kids had a good time checking out this pond and looking at hte fish and tadpoles!

We almost took the Train ride, but it was $3/person and I thought that was a little much!

We had to walk down to the other side of the farm to get to the Hayride that took us to pick peaches. We stopped by the sun flowers, they were so pretty!

We had to wait awhile to get on the hayride, sitting in the sun. That was not much fun, but once we got on it took us for a ride and we got to feel some cool breeze!

We had fun picking peaches!It was even funner going to get italian ice before heading back to the car with A/C! We were there for 3 hours and by the time we left it hit 101 degrees!

What was your worst dating experience?: Probably when I was 18 and a 32 year old man asked me out. He bought me flowers, took me to a great restaurant, took me shopping (he owned his own business) and wanted to take me out on his boat. Sounds horrible, right? Well, I ran for the hills when I found out he was divorced with 2 kids! There was no way I was getting in on that drama! LOL! Needless to say I didnt have alot of dating experience!

If you were about to die what would your last meal be?: Some tacos, tostadas, chips & salsa!!

Who is the most important person in you life?: I have 3 equally important people-Lexi,Lily&Jojo

If your house was on fire what 3 things would you grab on your way out?: My 3 children of course! But if i was in the house alone I'd grab the computer tower, my purse and my scrapbooks/photo albums!

Smooth Away Legs

After posting this pic on my 365 Blog I keep getting the question, "So how did it work??"

SO, let me tell ya!

Well....I was strolling through Target one day and I spotted Smooth Away in the clearance section. I could not resist such a good deal and put it in my cart. I have been meaning to order this for months after seeing all the infomercials. I have really bad dry skin and am always looking for ways to get my skin nice and smooth!

A couple days later...I decided to open the box and really get my legs lookin good. I was pleased to find the green case full of refills for the "file". Which is what is kinda looks and feels like, a nail file. The smoother kind, not the really rough kind ; ) It includes the bigger file and the smaller file. The refills have tape on one side that you stick onto the file. The directions state to go in a circular motion, 3 times clockwise, 3 times counter-clockwise. Repeat. Until you get the results you need.

WOW After about 4 to 5 repeats my skin felt SO soft! And the hair was coming off!

Here are the results:

Apparently I have some stubborn hairs though that I had to really work at, but it did work. My biggest problem is that it took SO long. After 1 leg, which took me about AN HOUR I was not looking forward to doing my other leg. But I could not have uneven legs, that would just not be cool. By the time I finished my other leg, the hairs on my first leg were already growing back! Sheesh. So try this product if you want to do a "smaller" area or if you have alot of time on your hands.

All in all it is a perfect product... if you have midget legs.

My Mother's Day!

I had a WONDERFUL Mother's Day spent with my children and my family. We went to church, then to Macaroni Grill for lunch! It was just a great day to really appreciate my mother and for my children to appreciate me, they made me feel special :)

2004 was a good year...

that's when my baby girl Lily was born. She brightened my world and we have never been the same since! We had to celebrate her 5 wonderful years this past Thursday, and she told me "I'm having SO much fun today, Mommy!" Made me so happy to make her happy!

We started off the day with taking her to pre-school, and taking cupcakes into her class.

When I picked her up shegot to pick lunch and she decided on Apple Dumpling Cafe. It is a little cafe down the street from our house that has sandwiches and other yummy foods.

Next we went to Glitter Box and got her hair done, she got to pick a purse and 2 items. She chose body glitter and lip gloss, of course!

Next up, was some shopping! We picked up a few things at The Children's Place and The Disney Store

On the way to pick up Lexi from the bust stop, she had to take a much needed nap!

Back to the mall, for some more shopping! & Build-A-Bear! This was our 1st time ever! She had a blast!

She chose Red Lobster for dinner because she wanted crab legs! & she ate every bit of them!
She could not wait to open her presents!

She got a card of $$$ from Nana & Poppa, & could not be more pleased!

Mommy & daddy got her some toys, jewelry & clothes!

So sad to see Danny go! He did so good last night; his farewell song was beautiful!

I really was not expecting to see Adam and Kris in the finals together! I don't see Kris even coming close to winning...but I'll make sure all those little girls don't get the better of me & I will be voting for Adam!! Can't wait to see what next week brings!! Although a bit sad it will be the last week...

BUT "So You Think You Can Dance" is starting next week! One of my favorites as well! Anyone else watch it??

The competition is ON!!! We heard the final 3 perform tonight and what great performances!

Danny- sang a song picked by Paula. I thought he did great! definitely his best from the last few weeks. I remembered what I liked about him from the beginning!

Kris- sang a song picked by Randy&Kara. I thought it was good, very Karaoke to me, he didn't make it his own and would have liked to see him do that, but still did good.

Adam- sang a song picked by Simon. GREAT GREAT GREAT! No I am not biased, he is just THAT good!

oooooooooooooh we are not finished yet! They each sang one more song picked on their own!

Danny- BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kris- Good job, but was not as taken as the judges seemed to be.

Adam- SUPERB! I'll be seeing him at the FINALS!!

After these performances I really think Danny & Adam will be in the FINALE!! I think they are on another level in comparison to Kris. I have no doubt Kris will get a record deal and have all the little girl fans chasing him.

I love The Beatles, Aerosmith and Led Zepplin so it was interesting to see American Idol contestants put their spin on it...

ADAM- What can I say? Brilliant.

ALLISON- She did good. Not her best, but she is talented!

KRIS/DANNY DUET- i thought it was "ok".

KRIS- Different spin on a Beatles song. I thought he did ok. again, not my favorite.

DANNY- It was like watching a train wreck. I had to turn away.

ADAM/ALLISON DUET- REALLY GOOD! They really mesh well together.

I really think Danny might be in trouble!! It's hard because these 4 have been my favorites all along, so I think I will be sad to see any of them go. But Danny really didn't shine tonight.

& before I go, I had to wish you all.....

This week is a special week for me. My 2nd child was born 5 years ago on the 7th of May. 2 days before Mother's Day that year. The best gift I ever could have recieved!

My water broke at 430am and within 30 minutes I was in active labor. I was so scared I wouldnt make it to the hospital. Joey drove me quickly after calling the hospital and telling them we were on our way. I got checked in right away and was 5cm dialated. Once they had checked me I felt the urge to push but I would not speak of it because I WANTED MY EPIDURAL!!! There was no way I could go through my entire labor without meds! LOL I got an epidural and was able to rest. I think the epidural helped slow down the process. I felt queasy so they gave me some meds that were supposed to help, but it just made me even more exhausted. My blood pressure was high, but they just kept a close eye on it and luckily it didn't become a huge concern. My epidural also didnt completely work, but enough for me not to be in complete pain. I was ready to push at 930am and she came into the world at 957am

She was my biggest baby at 8lb 7oz with thick dark-brown hair and blue eyes (they turned brown later). So beautiful! I fell in love instantly and she has continued over the last 5 years to soften my heart. She is so sweet and caring! I love her to pieces.

Which household chore do you dislike the most? Out of all the household chores I dislike putting away the laundry the most. I have no idea why.

What's the best museum you've ever visited? Hmmm...I haven;t been to a museum in a long time! My favorite as a kids was the Arizona Historical Society Museum.

It's Star Wars Day today. I've never seen any of the Star Wars movies. What "common" movies haven't you seen? I haven't seen Star Wars either, but another common movie I have never seen is the Godfather Movies.

Can you believe it is May already?? My baby girl turns 5 next week and school will be out by the end of the month! Sometimes I wish time could slooooow down!

American Idol- The RAT Pack

Last night the top 5 American Idol contestants sang their hearts out in hopes of making it another round.

Who do you think will make it?

Kris, who sang an interesting version of "The Way You Look Tonight" , I thought was a bit overrated by the judges. I had to agree with Simon on this one..of course not completely in agreement with Simon because I didn't understand half of what he said, but you get my drift ; )

and

Allison sang ”Someone to Watch over Me” with her raspy voice, making it her own and sounding like a rockstar

and then

Matt belted out ”My Funny Valentine” while wearing his hat, sounding predictable to me, but still with a nice voice

surprised by

Danny who sang ”Come Rain or Come Shine” because I thought it was his best performance by far in the last few weeks, he really stepped it up

and of course saving the best for last

Adam had his moment singing ”Feeling Good". I could tell he is just letting it all soak in! & he deserves it!

I think Adam, Danny, Allison and Kris will stay.

Sorry Matt, even with this being "your" week, it was not good enough, the hat cannot save you any longer.

This week I will share with you an embarrassing picture of myself! LOL Here I am the day before my 20th birthday and 1 week before giving birth to my first child. We did not know whether the baby was a boy or girl. My sister gave me a baby shower in Tucson so my friends and family could come. We were living in San Diego at the time. I did not tell my midwife that I was going out of town for fear she would tell me not to go to my own baby shower!!

My sister did an amazing job on my shower and it turned out wonderfully! Here I am with my cousin Jessica, while opening presents. We were so blessed! & with SO much green & yellow clothes! So much in fact that when I got pregnant with my 2nd child and found out she was a girl I went CRAZY PINK!!!!!!!!

Writer's Workshop-Book Review

This is my first time doing Writer's Workshop, hosted by the lovely MamaKat at Mama's Losin' It
If you have never checked out her blog, now is the time, she is HILARIOUS!!!

Now on to the work shop, each week she gives different prompts and it gives us something to write about! This week #1 stood out to me and since I have been meaning to do one of these for months I decided to start with this one!

#1 Book review!

Too perfect since I recently finished the book Escape.

This is an eye opening non-fiction book written wonderfully by Carolyn Jessop. This is her story. She was born into the FLDS and polygamist lifestyle. She writes about her life, her abuse, her giving birth to 8 children after marrying a man, many years older than her, as his 4th wife. After 17 years and 3 more wives she escapes with her children. It is actually a very disturbing book, to know there are actually people out there living there lives under such control and abuse. So many of the FLDS members are brainwashed, intimidated and isolated. As girls are being married off younger and younger it is shameful that more has not been done to save these children. Thankfully the FLDS prophet Warren Jeffs was imprisoned, but he still leads these people today from his cell.
I do not want to give a whole lot away in case you would like to read it, but I definitely recommend it.
I have enjoyed the show "Big Love" on HBO and I have to say the truth behind these books are so far from the show! The reality is truly frightening.

Stayin' Alive

That is what the American Idol contestants are trying to do! Stay in this competition and this sure is a tough one. I think the judges are correct in saying these are the most talented contestants! It's gonna get even tougher!

This week- DISCO WEEK!
I was not looking forward to this week as much since I can't say I am a big disco fan, but I REALLY enjoyed tonights performances (some more than others)!

Lil- To start the night off...I was disappointed, unimpressed and think Simon was right, she will be going home.

Kris- This kid is just too darn cute! and he did an amazing job on this song!

Danny- Great job! He is good at what he does, I just hope to see a little more from him in the coming weeks. I am getting a little bored.

Allison- FANtasTIC! What a way to change the song up, I am in awe at what she can do at 16!

Adam- I cannot help but smile when I hear him sing! He is awesome and I voted for him a gazillion times (thats alot!)

Paula is scaring me though, I think she is gonna be one of Adam's crazy stalkers.

Matt- he wore the hat. he disproved my theory. he was not good even with the hat. bad song choice, it sounded all over the place.

Anoop- I thought he did great, showed off his beautiful voice. not crazy about the arrangement at all! and who is dressing this kid?

We celebrated Easter/Resurrection Day with my parents by going to church, lunch at Olive Garden and then an Egg hunt in the front yard. We ended the day by watching Marley & Me..there were tears.

American Idol-Movie week!

This week on American Idol Quentin Tarantino was there to give advice...not sure why...but the theme this week was MOVIES! The seven finalists sang tonight and I must say it's gonna be hard to see anyone go this week!

Allison- Everyone seemed to love her and I thought she did good. not my best from her and I thought she had some mess ups. maybe i was the only one who caught them???

Anoop- WOW! I thought it was AWESOME! Way to go Anoop, he is really trying to stay in the competition!

Adam- What else can I say about this guy?? I LOVE him!

Matt- Did an alright job. last week's was much better. i'm actually starting to believe in my own hat theory.

Danny- Beautiful.

Kris- I really enjoyed it. i think Randy was being too harsh.

Lil- I thought it was good and I'm glad she stood up for herself, but i just dont know if she'll be around another week.

I wanted to post my opinion of last nights AI!
Each contestant sang a song from the year they were born!

Danny- He sang Stand By Me, great job! Solid performance.

Kris- I was a bit disappointed. I think he did an OK job.

Lil- Very Karaoke to me. I think she made it her own only at the end. She is not listening to the judges and says the same thing EVERY week!

Scott- I thought it was alright, the beginning was better to me then the rest, but I don't think he has a voice. Compared to the others he is so not winning material, but I think he KNOWS that!

Anoop- Pretty good, liked it better then last week. It hought it was a strange song for him to sing, but he made it his own.

Allison- I loved it! She's awesome!

Matt- I'm SO glad he listened to me!!! Maybe he reads my blog ; ) He put the hat on and WOW what a difference, he did GREAT!!!! Looks much better too =]

Well...what should I post about today? I want to post about Jojo's party, but I will do that later since I need to search for something older. But keep a look out!

Here is Lily when she was about 18 months old. We were at my friend Terri's house, she was running a bath for her daughter. When she went to check on the water, Lily had climbed in with shirt & diaper LOL Apparently she wanted her bath! This is SO Lily! She hasnt changed a bit!

I'm very exciited about thiis weekend! Today we are spending the day wiith my nephews A&M, I have not seen them in over a year! They liive in Ohio wiith their mother and are spending the next week wiith their father (my brother) for Spriing Break! They are 10yo and 9yo. We are hopiing to go bowliing today and do lots of fun stuff! I really just cant wait to see them, I miight cry when I see how biig they've gotten : (
So, today I deciided to get back into Friday Fill-in I have been such a slacker blogger lately, I have just been super busy with siick kiids, school and liife. Doesnt look liike anythiing will be settliing down anytiime soon either.

3. As my mother used to say, you're full of toxins. (LOL!!)
4. I'm SO hungry after I'm done working out or doing something strenuous.
5. Even in the most crowded of rooms I sometimes feel lonely.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to spending time with my nephews, tomorrow my plans include driving to Tucson and having a joint birthday party for Josiah and his cousin A and Sunday, I want to go to church and then finish my paper for my healthcare class!
